Understanding Church Membership

Membership at Indian Springs Baptist Church is more than adding a name to a roll. It is a commitment to Christ and to a local body of believers who worship, grow and serve together. The steps outlined below explain what membership means at ISBC — from trusting in Jesus and following Him in baptism to affirming shared convictions, connecting in community and serving with purpose.

Each step reflects a desire to walk faithfully with Christ as part of His church.

By this, we mean a personal, trusting relationship with him. Before belonging to a local church, you need to consider whether you have sincerely repented of your sins and put your faith into Jesus alone for salvation.

If you are ready to declare your new life in Christ through baptism, follow the link that will answer baptism FAQs, and sign up today!

The Discovery Class covers the essential doctrines and basic information about ISBC. There are 5 basic questions that will be answered:

  1. Why Do We Exist
  2. What Do We Believe
  3. What We Give
  4. Who Is Leading
  5. What We Expect

The Discovery Class is offered each quarter. If you are interested in participating, complete the Discovery Class Registration Form or contact the church office for more information.

By signing the membership covenant, you affirm that you have read and understand the ISBC Statement of Faith, completed the Discovery Class and desire to enter into a faith community with other believers for mutual growth, worship and service.

We value biblical community because that is where meaningful and lasting growth takes place. Through small groups and short-term Bible studies, you can deepen your relationship with God and build strong connections with others. One of the best ways to grow is by joining a Sunday Morning Bible Study.

Membership is not only about belonging — it is also about serving. God has given each believer unique gifts to build up the church and share the Gospel. Serving is one of the primary ways you grow in faith while strengthening the body of Christ. Whether through teaching, hospitality, music, outreach or behind-the-scenes support, there are many opportunities to use your gifts in meaningful ways.
